What was your life like before training with Odyssey HFC? I am 66yo and have all the issues which go hand in hand with this age. Hip pain from a motor bike accident i had when i was 18. At 55 i felt the changes in my body going backwards even though i was active, i could feel my strength and balance declining.

What do you like about training with Odyssey HFC? The team and Luke at Odyssey hfc tailored a program specifically for the life i wanted to lead. They call me to make sure i have had no issues with my training and to make sure im staying on track with my weekly goals.

What have been some achievements or milestone your proud of since training at Odyssey HFC? One of my biggest achievements is i hiked the Jebel Toubkal in the Atlas mountains in Morroco. I was the oldest in my Group, but not the weakest.

What was your life like before training with Odyssey HFC? Approaching 50, and with a sedentary desk job, my overall health, fitness and energy levels had noticeably declined. I was struggling to find a diet which worked for me, and me sleep quality was lower than it had once been.

What do you like about training with Odyssey HFC? Instead of just launching me into a routine of pumping weights and star jumps, Odyssey tailored a program which took all areas of my life into account. I was pleased that he was just as concerned about my diet and lifestyle as he was about my overall fitness levels. Creating an individual program has made my personal goals more achievable due to this realistic approach.

What have been some achievements or milestone your proud of since training at Odyssey HFC? Im not one of life's great achievers, however despite injuries and ailments, iv continued to attend my Odyssey HFC sessions on a regular basis which im pleased about. My health and fitness have improved greatly due to this consistency.

What was your life like before training with Odyssey HFC?
Although I was running and cycling, I was struggling to maintain my ideal weight. I wasn't supplementing my cardio with weight training, which is important to maintain lean muscle as you age.

What do you like about training with Odyssey HFC?
I instantly liked Luke during my introduction to Odyssey. He is extremely knowledgeable on overall requirements to achieve your goals (Sleep, dietary requirements, hydration, as well as weight training) this wasn't what I expected with a PT. I've tried a couple of PT's previously and was disappointed in their lack of overall fitness and wellness understanding, as they were mostly focused on exercise and weights alone. Once we started, Luke put me on the correct path of diet and exercise to build up my muscles and become a better and safer runner. Working on the right muscles helps me avoid running injuries and improves my balance to avoid falls. He really gets what is needed for each individual and doesn't just put you on a routine program. It is customized for what is needed to achieve your goals.

What have been some achievements or milestone your proud of since training at Odyssey HFC?
My running quality has improved, and the muscle gains and weight loss that I've acheived are visible every time I look at myself in the mirror (love it!). I've also cut out my snack craving by simply just eating more protein (who knew?)

What was your life like before training with Odyssey HFC?
Between lockdowns and going back to uni again, I had gone through a period of being pretty sedentary. I was having a lot of problems with back pain and motivation. My physio and GP kept telling me I needed to do more exercise but, even though I had been more active in the past, I just couldn't seem to figure out how to start or how to avoid pain when I was on my own.

What do you like about training with Odyssey HFC?
Luke has been great at changing up what we're doing depending on what kind of day or week I'm having, especially with pain and energy levels. That's meant that I've made steady progress without ever feeling demoralized that I can't do something or that I'm not as good as the last session. It's obvious how knowledgeable Luke is, not only about exercise but in his holistic approach to wellness including nutrition, sleep hygiene and motivation tips. The community he has built is also really friendly and comfortable.

What have been some achievements or milestone your proud of since training at Odyssey HFC?
I've remembered what it feels like to be excited about being active again, which has been amazing. It sounds boring but it's been such a huge relief that I can do things around the house without being in pain (laundry, dishes, moving big boxes of cat food!) now that I'm getting stronger. Plus, I've recently been able to fit into my wedding ring again!

What was your life like before training with Odyssey HFC?

I was fortunate to have trained with Luke for about 3 years prior to the pandemic. During this time, I achieved a level of fitness that was beyond my expectations even running two half marathons. But most importantly, I learnt a new way of eating and looking after myself that sustained me through a big operation, making for a much faster recovery. My family was so impressed with the changes in my fitness that my husband and daughter also started training with Luke also with great success. During Covid we moved up the coast and the only exercise I was doing was bushwalking. Even though I was eating well, I knew that I needed to get back into strength training, now that I was in my 50s.I was so delighted to hear that Luke was running Odyssey and I now travel from the Central Coast each week to train with him.

What do you like about training with Odyssey HFC?


Odyssey HFC is a very welcoming space. Luke is great at working around any injuries you may have while still stretching you so you feel like your constantly improving and seeing results. He has extensive knowledge of the fitness and health requirements for women going through peri-menopause and menopause which is impressive. I love all the extra monthly seminars that are available as well.

What have been some achievements or milestone your proud of since training at Odyssey HFC?

I’m surprised at how much stronger I’m feeling in such a short period of time. My overall fitness has improved, and I love the positive feelings that come from exercising!
